Invisible grills in Bangalore that keep children and pets safe on high balconies without boxing in the view you paid for.
Quick answer
Invisible grills are thin SS316 stainless-steel cables fixed across a balcony or window at a child-safe 2-inch gap. In Bangalore, GT Safety Solutions measures each opening on a free site visit, quotes per square foot in writing, and installs a typical apartment balcony in three to five hours.
Why choose it
Invisible grills in Bangalore have quietly replaced the welded MS grill on new apartment balconies, and for good reason. A row of thin stainless-steel cables, tensioned between an aluminium track at the top and one at the bottom, stops a child or a pet from going over the edge — yet from inside the room it all but disappears. You keep the skyline, the light and the cross-breeze; you lose the worry. GT Safety Solutions measures, supplies and installs invisible grills for balconies, windows, staircases and duct openings across Bangalore from our Yeshwanthpur branch.
Thin cables at an even gap read as a faint line, not a cage — the balcony still feels open.
A 2-inch gap is too small for a child's head or a cat to pass through, and there are no horizontal bars to climb.
Marine-grade SS316 cable shrugs off Bangalore's monsoon and needs no paint, ever.
Nothing blocks the breeze or the sun — unlike a welded grill or a mesh panel.
Most apartment associations prefer invisible grills because they keep the building's façade uniform.

The basics
An invisible grill is a safety barrier made of high-tensile stainless-steel wire rope — usually 2 to 3 mm thick and coated in clear nylon — fixed vertically (or horizontally) across an opening at a small, fixed gap. Each cable is held at full tension by a lock fitting inside an aluminium channel that is anchored into the slab and the floor. The result is a barrier that is strong enough to stop a fall, too narrow to squeeze through, and thin enough that the eye looks straight past it.
We use SS316 marine-grade stainless-steel wire rope, 2 mm to 3 mm thick, with a transparent nylon coating that protects the strand and softens the touch. Cables run through powder-coated aluminium top and bottom channels, are locked with stainless fittings and are set at a 2-inch (about 50 mm) gap as standard. Channels are anchored into concrete with stainless anchor fasteners, and every cable is tensioned individually and re-checked before handover.
Options
Floor-to-ceiling or parapet-to-ceiling cables across open balconies and utility areas — the most common job in Bangalore apartments.
Compact runs for bedroom and French windows that open outward or have a low sill, especially on upper floors.
The same system at a tighter spacing for homes with toddlers, with cables taken right down to floor level.
Horizontal cables along open staircase sides, mezzanines and duplex double-height voids.
| Feature | Invisible Grills | MS grill |
|---|---|---|
| View & light | Almost uninterrupted | Boxed-in, heavy frame |
| Rust | None (SS316) | Rusts; repaint every few years |
| Climbable | No horizontal footholds | Bars act as a ladder |
| Association rules | Usually approved — uniform look | Often not allowed on new towers |
| Fire escape | Cables can be cut in an emergency | Needs cutting equipment |
Pricing
Every home is different, so we do not publish a one-size price. Invisible grills are quoted on your actual measurements after a free site visit — in writing, with the materials named. These are the things that move the number:
Why GT Safety Solutions
Every quote comes from a tape measure on site, not a guess from a photo.
Cable grade, net type and fixings are written on your quote, so you know exactly what is going up.
Anchors go into sound concrete, never just plaster — the detail that decides whether it lasts.
Every cable tensioned, every net edge sealed and checked by hand before we leave.
Material details and photos for your apartment association's approval, on request.
Fitters from the Yeshwanthpur branch — the people who measure are the people who install.

Questions

Ask on WhatsAppYes, when they are fitted correctly. The cable is stainless-steel wire rope rated far above the load of a child leaning on it, and the 2-inch gap is narrower than a child's head. The two things that matter are the anchoring — into concrete, not plaster — and the tension of every single cable, which is why we test each run by hand before handing over.
Invisible grills are priced per square foot of opening, and the rate depends on cable thickness, spacing, the height of the floor and how the channels are fixed. Rather than quote a number that may not hold, we measure your balcony or window on a free site visit and give you a written quote for the exact area.
A typical apartment balcony takes three to five hours. A flat with several balconies and windows is usually finished in a day. Most of the work happens on the balcony itself, so the rest of the home stays usable.
Most Bangalore associations prefer them to welded grills because they keep the elevation uniform. We can share the material details and photos of similar work for you to submit before the installation date.
SS316 is marine-grade stainless steel, so it does not rust in Bangalore's monsoon. Cables can relax very slightly in the first months; a re-tension is a quick visit and we will tell you how to spot when one is needed.
Yes. Unlike a welded MS grill, the cables can be cut with an ordinary cable cutter, which is one reason fire-safety-conscious associations favour them.
